SKILLS FACILITATOR (SDF)

 

This programme assists learners to develop and submit Workplace Skills Plans, Annual Training Reports, conduct skills audits, coordinate training interventions and to implement a Quality Management system for Education, Training and Development within an organisation.

 

What unit standards are covered?

  • Unit Standard 15221 – Provide information and advice regarding skills development and related issues – NQF Level 5 – Credits 4
  • Unit Standard 15217 – Develop an organisational training and development plan – NQF Level 5 – Credits 6
  • Unit Standard 15232 – Coordinate planned skills development interventions in an organisation – NQF Level 5 – Credits 6
  • Unit Standard 15218 – Conduct an analysis to determine outcomes of learning for skills development and other purposes – NQF Level 6 – Credits 4

The National Certificate: Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices (Qualification 50334) is offered by KDS in the form of Six Skills programmes. 

 

The learning material Skills Programme deals with compulsory Unit Standards regarding the design and development of learning material as part of Outcomes Directed Education and Training.

 

This Skills Programme consists of the following unit standards

  • 123401 Design outcomes-based learning programmes
  • 123394 Develop outcomes-based learning programmes

 

MENTORSHIP AND COACHING

 

The Coaching and Mentoring Training Programme is ideal for those who wish to coach and mentor within the workplace or any setting where one‐on‐one coaching and mentoring is required. This programme equips learners with the necessary knowledge and skill to coach and mentor successfully in settings where one‐on‐one or group coaching and mentoring is required.  This includes companies offering learnerships and apprenticeships.

  • 117877 - Perform one-to-one training on the job credits 4 NQF level 3

  • 114215- Mentor a colleague to enhance the individual`s knowledge, skills, values and attitudes in a selected career path credits 3 NQF level 4

FIRST AID LEVEL 1

  • Unit Standard Title: Perform basic life support and first aid procedures

  • This course is presented over 2 days
  • Entry requirements: Grade 7 Literacy and Numeracy

 

This unit standard is for persons required to assess the emergency situation and providing basic life support and basic first aid in order to stabilise patients prior to transfer to the emergency services.

 

FIRST AID LEVEL 2

  • Unit Standard Title: Perform basic first aid

  • Credits: 4
  • NQF Level: 2
  • This course is presented over 3 days
  • Entry requirements: First Aid Level 1

 

Qualifying learners can perform basic first aid at the scene of an accident to minimise the risk of further injury or death.

 

FIRST AID LEVEL 3

  • This course is presented over 3 days

 

This unit standard is to enable the first responder to react to emergencies at an advanced first aid level, until the arrival of more professional emergency personnel.

A learner accredited with this standard will be able to demonstrate applied competence in occupational health, safety awareness of environmental issues and general housekeeping based on statutory and industry requirements.

OPERATE A COUNTER BALANCED LIFT TRUCK

  • Unit Standard Title: Operate a Counter Balanced Lift Truck (Forklift)

  • Credits: 7

  • This course is presented over 5 days for Novices and 1 day for re-certification

 

The person credited with this unit standard is able to operate a counter-balanced lift truck in a safe manner. They will also be able to conduct pre and post inspections to ensure the performance of the lift truck. The person will be able to handle the loading and storage of freight by using the equipment and its accessories in the required manner. They will also be able to access emergency system and services in the event of an incident or accident.

 

 

ROUGH TERRAIN / EARTHMOVING / AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENT WITH LIFT TRUCK ATTACHMENT

Operating a lifting machine takes place within a regulatory framework that seeks to ensure safety of the operator, the lifting machine and the lifting machine environment. Rough terrain/earthmoving/agricultural equipment is dangerous, hence, their safe operation cannot be overstated. The learner will also acquire the competencies and skills to operate the components, systems and levers to accomplish the task of lifting and handling loads appropriately.

 

COMPUTR LITERACY (MS PACKAGE)

 

Computer essentials

This module will teach you to perform basic work-related tasks on a PC running the Windows 10 operating system, the essential concepts and skills relating to the use of devices, file creation and management.

 

Online essentials

This module will teach you the essential concepts and skills relating to web browsing, effective information search, online communication and e-mail.

 

Microsoft Word

This module teaches you to use a word processing application to accomplish everyday tasks associated with creating, formatting and finishing small-sized word processing documents, such as letters and other everyday documents.

 

Microsoft Excel

This module teaches you to understand the concept of spreadsheets and to use a spreadsheet application. It will enable you to perform tasks associated with developing, formatting, modifying and using a spreadsheet, to use standard formulas and functions, and to competently create and format graphs or charts.

 

Microsoft Powerpoint

This module will enable you to demonstrate competence in using presentation tools on a computer. It will teach you to perform tasks such as creating, formatting, modifying and preparing presentations using different slide layouts for display and printed distribution.

 

CODE 08 - CODE 14 DRIVING LESSONS

 

KDS is a fully accredited driver training provider / driving school. We offer driving lessons and after licence courses across the country. Advanced Driving: Defensive and Economical Driving is an important course for professional drivers who transport goods and passengers.One of the most important aspects of driving and one that any professional driver should know and live by, is to assess the conditions you are driving in. Being aware of the changing driving conditions is a quality that separates the good drivers from the poor or average driver.

 

Areas of focus for this course include: Driver fatigue, Common Causes of Accidents, Eye lead time, Lane discipline and Communicating with other drivers on the road and making sure that they are aware of you.
