Overview: This course introduces learners to mixed farming systems, including plant and animal production. It prepares junior personnel for roles as farm laborers or operators, with a focus on sustainability and local economic development.

 

Target Audience:

• Junior farm laborers transitioning to skilled laborers in plant production.

• Farm owners with equivalent NQF Level 1 qualifications.

 

Entry Requirements:

• Practical farming experience (assessed and RPL'ed).

• Equivalent qualifications at NQF Level 1.

 

Exit Level Outcomes:

• Active participation in the primary agricultural sector.

• Production of high-quality agricultural products.

• Leadership in small-scale development projects within mixed farming systems.

 

Assessment and Certification:

• Competence assessed through a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE).

• Certificate of Competence issued by AGRISETA upon successful completion.
